This beautiful 14th Century building is adjacent to and belongs to the world famous York Minster, one of the country’s most visited tourist locations. The area is thronged with tourists throughout the year, many from overseas, particularly the USA, and the location is ideal for craft fairs with so many overseas visitors wanting souvenirs of their visit, and gifts for friends and family back home. The fairs are held in Maclagen Hall, with its minstrels gallery, and also the House of Laymen and the Bishops’ Chamber.
